Perched on the rugged, windswept landscape of Galešnik Island, Salt Blossom is a garden born from challenge and shaped by vision. This remote island site, defined by its salt-heavy winds, dry soils, and brilliant coastal light, required a landscaping approach that was both sensitive and bold. The clients envisioned a space that would complement the raw beauty of the island while supporting long-term sustainability and resilience. From the beginning, this was not a garden that could rely on lush planting alone. Instead, we embraced a regenerative landscaping design selecting native and drought-tolerant plants that would not only survive but thrive in the demanding climate.

These species, deeply rooted in the local ecosystem, require minimal care yet offer maximum ecological value, drawing pollinators, improving soil structure, and adapting to the natural rhythms of the landscape. To support their growth and health, we implemented a low-maintenance irrigation system, designed to use water sparingly while maintaining vitality year-round. Careful mulching and strategic planting ensure the garden holds moisture and reduces erosion, even in the face of coastal storms and summer drought. The result is a resilient, elegant landscape – a soft interface between architecture and wild nature. Salt Blossom doesn’t overpower its surroundings; it harmonizes with them, enhancing the natural topography while restoring ecological balance. This project is a quiet, yet powerful example of how regenerative landscaping can transform even the most exposed sites into living sanctuaries, spaces of beauty, intention, and enduring environmental care.
